Market data
Chartnaut streams prices to your charts in real time and loads their history as you scroll back. This page covers the instruments you can chart, the connection status in the top toolbar, and what happens when a data source goes down.
Find an instrument
Click the symbol in a chart's header to open Select instrument. Search by symbol or name, or narrow the list with the chips: Hyperliquid, Currencies, Indices and Commodities.
In real time, the list shows instruments that stream live. In a replay, an instrument without data for the whole session says so on its row, for example Data only available from a date, or Historical Only.
The connection status
In real time, the top toolbar shows how quickly prices are reaching you, as a figure in milliseconds.
Status | What it means |
|---|---|
Live (green) | Prices arrive within 400 ms |
Slow (red) | Prices take longer than 400 ms, or history has stopped loading |
Offline | The market data connection is closed |
The figure is the middle reading across your open charts. Hover it for the detail under Realtime. While a chart is loading history, a line reads History loading with how long it has waited. After 25 seconds without progress it reads History stalled and the status turns Slow, even when live prices are fine.
Replay sessions play stored history, so the status does not show there.
When a chart looks stuck
History loading or History stalled: the chart, or an indicator on it, is waiting for older bars. Give it a moment. If it stays stalled, reload the page.
Connection lost: the live connection dropped. Your charts and positions are safe, and nothing was sent to your broker while it was down. Click Reconnect. If it reads Too many connection attempts, wait for the countdown, then reconnect.
An indicator reading Need more chart history or showing a status icon in the legend: scroll the chart back so more bars load. Indicators on the chart explains the icons.
When a data source is down
If one of Chartnaut's market data sources stops responding, Charts shows Market data unavailable and lists the sources affected. It checks again every 5 seconds and takes you back to where you were as soon as data returns.
Check again checks straight away.

Your plan sets how much history charts, replay and research can reach. Historical data lists it by plan.
