For developers
If you would rather work in a terminal, an editor or your own code, Chartnaut has a command-line tool and an API. Both run your indicators, definitions and studies on Chartnaut's servers and save them to your account, where they open in the app like anything you built there. They need Starter or above.
They sit alongside Chartnaut Desktop or the browser, not in place of them: you still chart, trade and read results in the app.
The CLI
The Chartnaut CLI is one program for macOS, Linux and Windows. Install it with one command, then sign in:
curl -fsSL https://chartnaut.com/install.sh | sh
chartnaut loginOn Windows, install it in PowerShell with irm https://chartnaut.com/install.ps1 | iex. The same commands are on the Developers page, in the menu under your name.
Start with Install, Sign in and Your first run, which runs an EMA on 30 days of BTC. The CLI overview lists everything it does.
Coding agents
Run chartnaut init in a folder and Claude Code or Codex can write a script, run it, read the results and fix it until the numbers make sense. Working with Claude Code and Codex explains the loop they follow.
AI apps
Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Codex can connect to Chartnaut's MCP server at https://api.chartnaut.com/v1/mcp and work on your account from their own chat: read the docs, write a script, run it and explain the results. You approve the connection once on a Chartnaut page, with no key to copy. Connect Chartnaut to an AI app
The API
The CLI calls the same HTTP API your own code can use, at https://api.chartnaut.com/v1. Make a key on the Developers page, then read the API overview for a first call and the API reference for every endpoint. Your plan sets how many requests a minute you can make; Limits explains the rest.
Open source
The CLI's code, its install scripts and a guide for coding agents are on GitHub at chartnaut/cli. Read what the installer runs, build it yourself, or open an issue there.
