How the pieces fit
Every trader carries a few hunches around. The opening range break that seems to run on BTC. The London high that always gets taken out. Chartnaut is built to turn a hunch like that into an answer, and then put the answer where you trade.
Start with a hunch
Say you have noticed that when BTC breaks the first 15-minute range of the New York session above VWAP, it tends to keep going. You have seen it work. You have also seen it fail, and you are not sure how often.
Show Chartnaut what you are looking at
First, the ingredients. VWAP and the opening range are indicators: values drawn on the chart, bar by bar. Chartnaut has plenty built in, and the agent will build any that are missing.
Then the setup itself. A definition is your hunch written down precisely enough that Chartnaut can spot it: price breaks the first 15-minute range while above VWAP. Run it over two years of BTC and it marks every time that happened. In this case, 786 times.
Ask your question
Now you can ask what you actually wanted to know. A study takes those 786 breaks and measures what came next. How often did price reach the prior day's high? What came first, the target or the stop? Does it matter how far above VWAP the break started?
The answers come with the evidence behind them. Breaks from above the upper VWAP band reached the prior day's high 51 times in 61, and you can open every one of those 61 on the chart and look at it yourself.
Take the answer into your trading
A number in a report is easy to forget. So you attach the study to the chart as a Forward Insight. Tomorrow, when BTC breaks its opening range above the band, the chart shows you 51 in 61 on the bar where it happens, before you decide anything.
Learn from your own trades
The market is half the story. The other half is you.
Every trade you take is saved with a snapshot of your chart. Put your opening range trades into one playbook and you start to see your side of it: which ones you took well, which ones you chased, where your edge actually is. Once the playbook has enough trades, Historical Intelligence learns from them and tells you how your own version of the setup tends to play out.
A study tells you what the market does. Your playbook tells you what you do. Chartnaut puts both on the chart, right where you make the call.
