Connect TradeLocker
Connect your TradeLocker accounts and Chartnaut can place orders at your broker or prop firm from Charts and journal every fill without you copying anything across. You log in with the same email, password and server you use in TradeLocker, the way you would with MetaTrader.
One TradeLocker login often holds several accounts, for example a challenge and a funded account at the same firm. You log in once and pick which ones to link. Each linked account uses one live slot while it is switched on, from the same allowance as MetaTrader and cTrader: Starter has 1, Pro 2 and Ultra 4. How accounts work explains slots and pausing.
Before you start
Have these to hand:
Email and Password: the ones you log in to TradeLocker with.
Server: the server name in your TradeLocker login email from your broker or prop firm, for example ATLAS or HEROFX.
You don't need to know whether your accounts are Demo or Live. Chartnaut looks on both and lists every account it finds, each marked Demo or Live. A prop-firm challenge is usually on Demo.
If you sign in to TradeLocker with Google, you have no TradeLocker password yet. Set one first: on TradeLocker's login page, use Forgot password with the same email.
Connect it
Open Trading → Accounts.
Click Connect account.
On What do you want to do?, choose Connect an existing account.
On Which platform?, choose TradeLocker.
Enter your Email, Password and Server.
Click Log in to TradeLocker.
Tick the accounts you want to trade. Each shows its name, status, account number, currency, balance and whether it is Demo or Live.
Change the label under a ticked account if you want something you will recognise, such as "Challenge" or "Funded".
Under Trade history, leave Sync past trades into Chartnaut ticked to import your closed trades, and pick a Lookback.
Click Link account, or Link 2 accounts when you ticked more than one.
To look on one environment only, open Advanced before you log in and choose Demo or Live instead of Auto-detect.
The account list waits 15 minutes for your pick. After that, log in again.
Above the button, the picker tells you how many live slots are free. Tick more accounts than you have slots and it asks you to choose fewer, or disable an account first.
An account marked Already linked is connected to Chartnaut already. One marked Unavailable is linked to another Chartnaut user and cannot be ticked.
Chartnaut keeps your TradeLocker login encrypted so it can stay signed in for you. It never shows your password, on the account's Settings tab or anywhere else.
After it connects
The accounts appear on the Accounts page. If you left the sync ticked, the history import starts straight away. Chartnaut then needs you to link each broker symbol you traded to a Chartnaut instrument, once, exactly as with MetaTrader. Symbol mapping and History import cover both steps.
To trade, open Trading → Charts, hover Select Account and choose the account.
How TradeLocker accounts differ
Partial close follows your account. TradeLocker tells Chartnaut, account by account, whether you can close part of a position. Where your broker allows it, Close partial is on the position. Where it does not, Chartnaut leaves it out.
Commission is a daily total. TradeLocker does not report commission or swap on each trade, so your trades in Chartnaut carry none. The account summary in Charts shows commission as Fees today, the total for the day so far.
Prop-firm rules are yours to follow. Chartnaut does not check your firm's rules, such as a minimum time to hold a trade, a daily loss limit or news restrictions. An order Chartnaut sends counts against your account exactly as one from TradeLocker would.
The daily pause refuses orders. Most brokers pause FX for a few minutes around 21:00 UTC each day. During the pause your broker refuses new orders and changes to stops and targets, and Chartnaut shows its refusal with the broker's own message. Nothing is executed. Try again once the market reopens.
When it goes wrong
While logging in
What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
We couldn't find that server | The server name does not match. Copy it from your broker's or prop firm's email, for example ATLAS |
TradeLocker didn't accept that email and password | Check both in TradeLocker's own login. If you use Google to sign in, set a TradeLocker password first |
You're logged in, but there are no TradeLocker accounts on demo or live | Your login works but has no accounts yet. Check in TradeLocker that the account exists and is active |
You're logged in, but there are no accounts on the demo environment | You chose one environment under Advanced and your accounts are on the other. Choose Auto-detect and log in again |
TradeLocker isn't responding right now | TradeLocker is down or busy. Try again in a minute |
This TradeLocker sign-in expired | More than 15 minutes passed before you linked. Log in again to choose your accounts |
Live broker account limit reached for your plan | All your live slots are in use. Turn off the switch on another account to free one, or move to a larger plan |
An account is missing from the list
The list shows every account on Demo and Live for the login you used (or only one of them, if you chose it under Advanced). If one is missing, it is under a different TradeLocker email or server. Log in again with that one.
An account greyed out as Unavailable is linked to another Chartnaut user. They need to remove it from their Chartnaut first.
After it is connected
What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
The account shows Error and Re-enter your TradeLocker password | TradeLocker stopped accepting the saved login, usually because you changed your password. Click Re-enter your TradeLocker password, type the new one and click Log in again. Every account from that login reconnects |
TradeLocker didn't accept that password | Check it in TradeLocker's own login, then try again |
An order or stop change is refused near 21:00 UTC | The daily pause. Wait a few minutes and try again |
Close partial is missing | Your broker does not allow partial closes on this account |
No commission on your trades | TradeLocker reports commission as a day total. Look for Fees today in Charts |
The email, server and environment stay as you linked them when you re-enter the password, so your accounts keep their trades, labels and symbol links.
