Manage an account

Every connected account has its own pages: its results, its reports and its connection settings. Click an account on Trading → Accounts to open them. How accounts work explains the two kinds of account and what each status dot means.

The filter button at the top narrows every tab by closed date, playbook, symbol, tag, side, outcome or your own properties. Unmapped only finds MetaTrader trades on a symbol you have not linked yet; Symbol mapping shows how to fix them. The button beside the filters opens Charts with this account selected.

You can also add your own tabs here. See Views on accounts.

Rename it

  1. Hover the account name at the top of its page and click the pencil, Edit account label.

  2. Type the new name and press Enter.

On the Accounts page, the … menu on the row has Edit label as well. The login, server, leverage and starting balance cannot be changed.

Pause and resume

A paused MetaTrader account frees its live slot and keeps all its trades and snapshots.

  1. On Trading → Accounts, turn off the switch on the account's row. The same switch is under Connection on the Settings tab.

  2. Click Disable in Disable Account.

To resume, turn the switch back on. The account is live again in about a minute, if a slot is free.

Reconnect after an error

An account shows Error when Chartnaut cannot reach it, for example after you change the password at your broker. Its switch is locked until it reconnects.

  1. Open the account. The page reads This broker connection failed.

  2. Click Reconnect.

  3. Choose Same credentials to retry, or Different credentials to enter a new login, password or server.

  4. For new credentials, fill in the fields and click Save & reconnect.

The Settings tab

  • Connection shows the hosted terminal's state: Live, Deploying, Paused, Unreachable or Offline, with the switch beside it.

  • Details lists the label, broker, environment, login, server, leverage, currency, balance, credit and equity. Your password is never stored or shown.

  • Trade history re-imports closed trades on a MetaTrader account, once every 24 hours. See History import.

Delete an account

Deleting permanently removes the account and every trade imported from it, including snapshots, chart images and playbook tags. Connecting the same login again later does not bring them back. Pause the account instead if you might want its history.

  1. Open the account and click the Settings tab.

  2. Under Danger zone, click Delete account.

  3. Click Delete to confirm.

Deleting frees the account's live slot. It does not close open positions at your broker.
