Snapshots and replay
When you open and close a trade, Chartnaut photographs your charts. Weeks later you can see exactly what you were looking at when you clicked Buy, step back into the chart around the trade, or turn it into a short video.
When snapshots are taken
Chartnaut captures your whole Charts layout, every chart with its symbol and timeframe, once when the trade opens and once when it closes. It can only do that while Chartnaut is open, so a trade that hits its stop while Chartnaut is closed has an open snapshot and no close snapshot.
Trades imported from your broker have no snapshots, because Chartnaut was not watching when you took them. Their detail says Broker-sourced trades do not include chart snapshots.
See them on a trade
Open a trade in Trades and scroll below Notes. A switch picks between two ways to look at it.
Images shows the two captures, At open above At close, each with the time it was taken.
Interactive puts the trade back on a chart: the chart that matches the trade's instrument, loaded from the snapshot with indicators on. It shows the whole trade with the same number of bars again on each side, so you see the run-up and what happened after you exited. You can scroll, zoom and draw on it as on any chart.
Interactive is the default, and Chartnaut remembers which one you last used. If a trade's snapshot does not carry enough chart detail, Interactive is unavailable and Images is the way to see it.
Preview from the table
In the table view of Trades, click a trade's chart thumbnail to preview its snapshots without opening the trade.
Switch between At open and At close. With several charts in the layout, click a timeframe to enlarge that chart, or All for the whole layout.
Copy copies the image. Cmd+C or Ctrl+C does the same.
Open opens the trade.
More shows its duration and open and close times.
Export a video
A trade video replays the trade on its chart: price moving bar by bar, your entry drawn in, and the result landing at the exit. It is made for posting.
On the trade, click Share, then As video.
Choose the settings below. The stage shows the trade's chart at the size you pick.
Click Render video. A progress bar counts the frames.
When it is ready, click Download MP4.

The clip is as long as the trade and the pacing make it, and shows your avatar and username. Changing a setting after rendering means rendering again. Rendering happens in your browser, which needs WebCodecs: current Chrome, Edge or Safari 16.4 and later.
A trade with no usable snapshot has nothing to replay, so it cannot be made into a video. Sharing a trade covers the image card.
