Tags and criteria
Tags are the conditions you check on every trade in a playbook: Above VWAP, Retest held, Gap day. Tag every trade the same way and the playbook can tell you which conditions go with your winners. In the app, the list you tick on a trade is also called its criteria.
Pick a tag type
Type | Takes | Example |
|---|---|---|
Checkbox | True or not | Above VWAP |
Radio Group | Exactly one of its options | Range size: Narrow, Normal or Wide |
Checkbox Group | Any number of its options | Confluence: Prior day high, VWAP, Round number |
Use a Radio Group when every trade has exactly one answer. It keeps the reports clean: a trade cannot be both narrow and wide.
Add tags to a playbook
Open the playbook from Trading → Playbooks and open the Tags tab.
Click New tag and type the name.
Choose Checkbox, Radio Group or Checkbox Group beside the name, then press Enter.
For a group, click New option under it and add each option the same way.
To rename a tag or change its type, hover over it and click the pencil. Turning a group into a Checkbox removes its options. The trash button deletes a tag, and deleting a group deletes all its options.
Each tag has a ring that fills as more of your trades carry it. It is full, and marked Learned, at 50 trades.
Tag a trade on the chart
Tagging as you place the trade is the quickest way to keep it honest, because you record the conditions before you know the result.
Set up the trade in the Position Manager and click Add to chart. See Trading from the chart.
The Log this trade? list opens. Click the playbook. Its tags open beside it.
Tick the tags that are true right now and choose one option in each Radio Group.
Click Draft, then Confirm on the chart.
Your ticks stay in place for the next trade, so a condition that holds all session does not need ticking again. Selections reset in at the bottom of the list shows when they clear; click it to choose Daily, Weekly or Monthly. The clear button beside the playbook's name clears them straight away.
Missing a tag? Click New at the bottom of the tag list and add it there. It is saved to the playbook like any other.
With a trained Historical Intelligence model, the Intelligence switch above the tags shows the odds of each R-level for the tags you have ticked.
Tag a trade afterwards
Open the trade in Trades.
If the Playbook row is empty, click it and choose the playbook.
Click the Tags row. The list asks Which criteria does this position meet?
Tick the tags and click Save.
Moving a trade to a different playbook clears its tags, because tags belong to their playbook. See Trade detail.
See which tags matter
The Tags tab has two views. List is where you add and edit tags. Relationships draws your tags as spheres in 3D, sized by total P&L; click one to see its trade count, its average R and how it does when paired with each of your other tags.
The Correlations report compares your win rate on trades with each tag against trades without it. See Playbook reports.
