Chart limits

Your plan sets how much one Charts layout can hold: how many panels are open, how many indicators run on one chart, and how many timeframes one indicator reads. This page gives the numbers and what you see when you reach them.

What counts

Panels. Every tile in the layout counts, whatever it holds: a chart, a watchlist, an order book or the chart agent each take one. See Panels.

Indicators per chart. Each indicator counts, and so does every indicator it brings with it. A row that uses two others as dependencies costs three. A dependency shared by two indicators on the same chart counts once. Indicators on other charts in the layout do not count.

Timeframes per indicator. Only timeframes beyond the chart's own count. An indicator that reads 1h and 4h on a 5m chart reads two extra timeframes, so it runs on Starter and needs Pro or Ultra to read a third.

At the cap

Adding a panel past the limit is refused with Panel limit reached: Your plan opens up to 4 panels at once. Close one to open another, or upgrade for more.

Adding an indicator that would take the chart past its allowance is refused with Indicator limit reached. One that reads too many timeframes is refused with Too many timeframes for your plan.

In an indicator's settings, choosing more timeframes than your plan covers shows a red warning before you save: These settings read 3 timeframes beyond the chart's. Your plan allows 2, so this indicator will not run until you reduce them or upgrade. You can still save.

An indicator that ends up over a limit another way, from a chartbook, the chart agent or saved settings, stays on the chart but does not run. Its row in the indicator list shows a warning, such as RSI: too many indicators for your plan, with an upgrade link. Indicators take the allowance in list order, so the ones lower in the list are the ones that stop.

Free up room

• Close a panel you are not using.

• Remove an indicator from that chart.

• Open the indicator's settings and turn off timeframes it reads.

• Upgrade. Charts reads your plan when it loads, so reload Charts after upgrading.

Charts never removes anything for you. After a downgrade, a saved layout with more panels than your new plan allows opens with all of them. You can rearrange and close panels, but not add one until you are under the limit.

Live data limits

These are the same on every plan, and are counted across all your open windows:

Past one of these, a toast names it, for example Chart limit reached: You're at 16 of 16 live charts. Close one to add another. Opening a fifth session disconnects the oldest one, which shows Your session was disconnected because you reached the limit of 4 active sessions.
