Overview
The Trades library is your global journal — every closed position from live trading, demo, backtests, and playbook sessions in one searchable place.
Chartnaut is an agent-powered trading environment. You review and organize trades here. Agents can search and study the same library on your behalf.
What you get
One index of all recorded trades, regardless of where you took them
Filters for instrument, date, playbook, tags, and custom properties
Grid or table views with P&L and key metrics
A split detail pane to open notes, fills, and snapshots without leaving the list
Open the library
Go to Research → Trades.
The library loads your most recent trades. Use the view toggle to switch between grid and table.
Find trades fast
Open the filter bar
Narrow by instrument, date range, origin (live, backtest, hindsight), playbook, or tags
Sort columns in table view — for example by P&L or entry time
Click a row to open the detail pane on the right
Filters sync to the URL. Bookmark or share a filtered view with yourself across devices.
Deep-link from elsewhere
Trades links appear throughout Chartnaut:
Manage Session or Manage Account — view trades from that session or account
Playbook reports — jump to trades tagged to that strategy
Dashboard activity — open trades from a recent session
Each link opens the library with filters already applied.
Grid vs table
Grid — card layout with thumbnails and quick P&L. Best for visual review.
Table — dense columns you can sort and customize. Best for scanning many trades or comparing metrics.
Switch anytime. Your selection persists.
What good looks like
You can answer “show me every ES loss last week with tag chase” in a few clicks, open one trade, and read the note you left when you closed it.
Important distinctions
Trades library = your journal of executed positions. Research datasets = historical events emitted by a Definition — a different kind of collection.
Pinned collections (in Trades) = saved sets of trades from search. Forward Insights (in Research) = study results on your chart.
