How the pieces fit
Chartnaut is an agent-powered trading environment — a deeply integrated workspace where every tool can help drive your experience.
You can use every tool yourself. Agents can use those same tools on your behalf. Your broker connection, charts, trades, playbooks, and research all live in one place — so nothing you do is stranded in a silo.
What you can do from day one
Trade live through MetaTrader (MT4 / MT5 today; more platforms coming soon)
Practice on past market data without risking capital
Journal every trade with notes, tags, and chart thumbnails
Organize related trades into playbooks
Research setups with data — then bring results onto your live chart
You don’t need all of this on day one. Start with trading or practice. Everything you save makes the rest of Chartnaut smarter.
How Chartnaut fits together
Think of Chartnaut as one environment with four layers that feed each other.
1. Trade
Connect MetaTrader under Trading → Accounts, then open Terminal → Real-time.
Charts, orders, and positions stay in Chartnaut. Demo works the same way with virtual money if you want live markets without live risk.
To practice on history instead: start a Backtest or playbook session, then open Terminal → Replay.
2. Remember
Every fill lands in Trades — live, demo, and practice alike.
Chartnaut stores the trade with context: notes, tags, and chart thumbnails so you can reopen what the market looked like. This is your journal. It is also memory for the rest of the product.
3. Organize
Group related work into a Playbook — one named strategy, such as “London open breakout.”
Playbooks collect the sessions and trades that belong to that idea. Over time, that history becomes the raw material for better review and for tools that learn from your executions.
4. Research — and put it on the chart
Because Chartnaut already holds your trades, charts, and strategy history, research tools can work against the same environment you trade in.
Define a setup. Collect where it appeared in history. Run a study. Test a hypothesis far faster than doing it by hand. Then bring study results into your Terminal chart in real time — so research shows up while you trade, not in a separate spreadsheet.
Agents can help drive this path. You can run every step yourself. Same tools either way.
Why the integration matters
Scattered tools force you to copy trades, screenshots, and notes between apps. Chartnaut keeps the loop closed:
Broker → Terminal → Trades → Playbooks → Research → back onto the chart
Each step adds context the next step can use. That is what makes Chartnaut an environment — not a pile of disconnected screens.

Important distinctions
Real-time is live markets through your connected account. Replay is practice on a past session.
Demo is live markets with virtual money. A Backtest is a session on historical data. Connecting a broker does not start a backtest.
