Charts

Charts

Where you chart, trade and replay. Open it from Trading → Charts. See Charts.

Chartbook

A saved Charts layout: its panels, indicators, theme and watchlist. See Chartbooks.

Panel

One tile on Charts. A chart is a panel, and so are the watchlist, the order book, the Position Manager and the Chartnaut Assistant. See Panels.

Real-time

Charts on live markets, trading through a connected account.

Replay

Charts on a past session, played forward bar by bar. See Replay controls.

Accounts and trading

Chartnaut Demo

A live-market account with virtual money. Included with every paid plan, with no limit on how many you open. See Connect an account.

MetaTrader

MT4 or MT5 broker accounts you connect to trade for real. How many can be connected at once depends on your plan. See Live slots.

Symbol mapping

The link between your broker's name for an instrument and Chartnaut's. See Symbol mapping.

Backtest session

A practice run on historical data. You trade it on Charts in Replay. See Start a session.

Journal and playbooks

Trade

One position, from any account or backtest, saved with its fills, snapshots, notes and tags. See Trade detail.

Snapshot

A chart image Chartnaut saves at a trade's entry and exit. See Snapshots and replay.

Journal

A page per trading day for your notes, beside that day's trades. See Daily journal.

Playbook

One setup you trade on purpose, with its rules, R-level targets and trades. See What a playbook is.

R-level

A target measured in multiples of your risk. A playbook has three: Bare minimum, Main target and Extended target, at 1R, 2R and 3R unless you change them.

Historical Intelligence

A model trained on one playbook's trades that gives the odds of reaching each R-level on your next trade. See Historical Intelligence.

Research

Indicator

A calculation drawn on the chart, such as a moving average. Definitions and studies can use indicators. See Custom indicators.

Definition

A rule that recognises one market event. Run over history, it marks every time the event happened. See What a definition is.

Event

One time a definition matched, stored with the market context at that moment. See Browse events.

Profile

A saved set of settings for a definition, so one definition can run with different parameters. See Versions and profiles.

Study

A question asked of a definition's events, answered with the sample behind it. See What a study is.

Forward Insight

A finished study attached to the chart. When the definition's event fires, the chart shows what usually happened next. See Forward Insights.

Building

Agent

The assistant that builds indicators, definitions, studies and apps from a description and asks you to approve each step. See The agent.

App

A panel the agent writes for you, such as a report or a screener. Apps can also appear as tabs on trades, journal days and reports. See What an app is.

Layer

A drawing surface a script paints on, used inside indicators and definitions. See Layers and rows.

Community library

Indicators, definitions and apps other traders have published. See Community library.

Account

AI credits

What the agent spends. Bought separately from your plan. See AI credits.

API key

A key that lets the Chartnaut CLI, a coding agent or your own code act as you. See API keys.

Words that sound alike

Chartnaut Demo is live markets with virtual money. A backtest session is historical data you trade in Replay.

Real-time is Charts on live markets. Replay is Charts on a past session.

A study measures the market around a definition's events. A playbook measures the trades you took.

A Forward Insight shows what the market usually did after an event. Historical Intelligence shows how your own trades of a setup usually went.
