MetaTrader
MetaTrader is how Chartnaut talks to your live broker today (MT4 / MT5). Connect once under Accounts, then trade from Terminal → Real-time with that account selected.
Live trades use real money. More broker platforms are coming soon; MetaTrader is the primary live path now.
Before you connect
A Chartnaut plan with available Broker capacity
Your MetaTrader login, password, and server from the broker
Comfort that live orders can lose real capital
Connect MetaTrader
Go to Trading → Accounts
Choose MetaTrader (MT5, or MT4 where supported)
Enter login, password, and server
Submit — Chartnaut sets up the connection
The Accounts list shows connecting, connected, or error while that finishes.
After it connects
Open Terminal → Real-time and select this account
On the first trade for each chart market, complete Symbol Linking — match the chart to your broker’s symbol name
Trade as usual from the chart or position manager
Review fills in Research → Trades
Symbol Linking is a one-time confirm per market on that account. Without it, Chartnaut does not know which broker symbol to use for that chart.
Capacity and multiple accounts
Each live MetaTrader connection uses Broker Capacity while enabled. Higher plans allow more links. Disable or delete accounts you are not using to free a slot.
Pick the active account in the Terminal toolbar when you have more than one connected.
If connection fails
Log in with the same details in your broker’s MetaTrader app first
Free Broker Capacity if the pool is full
Retry after broker maintenance
Contact support with the error on the account row if it persists
Important distinctions
Connecting MetaTrader enables live Real-time — it does not start a Backtest. Symbol Linking matches chart markets to broker symbols — required for live MetaTrader only. Chartnaut Demo skips broker login and Symbol Linking.
