Broker accounts

Broker accounts are the live MetaTrader limits on your Chartnaut plan — how many accounts can stay connected at once, and how many new account links you can add each billing month.

Chartnaut Demo is unlimited and never consumes either limit. Manage usage under Settings → Subscription → Broker accounts and Trading → Accounts.

Two separate limits

Live at once — MetaTrader connections that are active, provisioning, or pending deployment right now. Disable an account to free a live slot without deleting the link.

New links this period — the first successful provision of a unique MetaTrader identity (platform + server + login) in the billing month. Failed attempts do not count. Reconnecting or re-enabling an account you already linked does not use a new monthly link.

Limits refresh with your billing period — check Settings → Subscription for dates.

Demo does not consume either limit. Free / trial plans do not include live MetaTrader.

Free a live slot

From Trading → Accounts:

  1. Disable an account you are not trading today — keeps history, frees the live slot

  2. Or Delete a connection you no longer need — removes the link entirely

  3. Refresh the Broker accounts readout — freed live slots should appear immediately

You cannot enable a new live link if every live slot is full. Disable something first or upgrade plan.

If you hit the monthly new-link allowance, wait for the next billing period or upgrade — reconnecting an account you already linked this month still works.

Broker accounts vs other limits

Broker accounts — live MetaTrader slots and monthly new links.

AI usage — separate pay-as-you-go credits for AI features — not bundled in plan price.

Research limits — definitions, studies, events — different counters on Subscription.

Do not confuse broker account limits with backtest count or trade snapshot limits.

Dashboard view

Navigate → Dashboard shows a compact accounts readout next to connected brokers.

Use it as a morning check before enabling an extra MT5 login.

Important distinctions

Broker accounts apply to live MetaTrader links — not Backtest sessions.

Replay does not use broker account limits — no broker required.

Demo is for live-tick practice without spending MetaTrader slots or monthly links.
