feature
Manage an account
Manage an account is where you maintain a connected broker — enable or disable, rename, open Terminal, and review trades and reports for that link alone.
Open it from Trading → Accounts → select a row → Manage Account.
What you can do
Rename — friendly label ("FTMO 50K", "Personal MT5")
Enable / disable — disable frees Broker Capacity without erasing trade history
Open Terminal — jump to Real-time with this account pre-selected
Reports and tabs — same chrome as session management, scoped to live/demo account data
Exact tabs match the product (overview, trades, analytics — labels may evolve).
Enable and disable
Disable when:
You are done trading for the day but want to keep the connection configured
You need to free capacity for another account
Broker maintenance makes live routing risky
Enable when you are ready to quote and trade again.
Disabled accounts should not route new orders. Historical trades remain in Research → Trades.
Open Terminal from here
Open Terminal (or equivalent CTA) sends you to Terminal → Real-time with this account active.
Faster than picking the account manually from the toolbar when you always trade one login.
Manage Account vs Manage Session
Manage Account | Manage Session | |
|---|---|---|
Scope | Live or Demo broker link | Backtest or playbook practice session |
Data | Real-time fills and account stats | Simulated replay trades |
Open practice | Terminal Real-time | Terminal Replay |
Same report patterns — different data source. Do not open Manage Session expecting live P&L.
Delete a connection
Delete removes the broker link from Chartnaut. Past trades in Trades usually remain — check filters by account origin.
Delete when you will never reconnect that login. Disable when you might return this week.
Important distinctions
Account management is for Real-time brokers (MT5, Demo).
Backtest sessions are managed under Trading → Backtest — different library, same journal destination.
Disabling Demo stops virtual trading — it does not delete your Backtest history.
Next
Broker capacity — why disable matters
Trade in real-time — connect to journal path
