Overview
Conductor is Chartnaut’s research guide — an agent that sequences define → collect → study → pin using the same tools you would open manually.
Chartnaut is an agent-powered trading environment. Conductor drives; you approve. You can also take over any step in the builders.
What Conductor does
Turn a plain-language goal into a Definition
Queue Collect runs and show progress cards
Draft and run studies
Propose in-terminal pins after results
Open Conductor
Go to Research → Conductor.
Start a thread with your goal — for example “measure NY open range breaks on ES 5m and put hit rate on my chart.”
How it differs from solo work
Solo | Conductor |
|---|---|
You open each screen | Agent proposes next step |
You remember prerequisites | Agent nudges snapshot / recollect |
You track run status | Collection cards in thread |
Same artifacts — definitions, datasets, studies, pins — appear in the regular libraries.
Approvals
Conductor asks before destructive or costly actions — new collects, study runs, pins on Terminal.
Decline or edit. Open the Definition Builder mid-thread to tweak code yourself.
What good looks like
One Conductor thread from idea to pin in a single sitting. Every object findable later under Definitions without hunting chat history.
Important distinctions
Conductor = ongoing agent thread for the full research loop.
Manual research = you open Definitions, Collect, Studies, and pins yourself — same pipeline under Research overview.
Terminal = trade and chart — not where Conductor lives.
Next
Delegations — specialist handoff
Example journeys — retail stories end to end
Research overview — the same loop without the agent
