Browse events
After you Collect, open the dataset to browse events — each row is one time your setup fired, with the payload your Definition attached.
Spot-check here before you trust a study.
Open events
Go to Research → Definitions
Open your definition
Open the Datasets or Events section
Pick a completed collect
Browse by instrument or scroll the event list
What you see per event
Timestamp — bar time of the emit
Instrument and timeframe
Payload fields — custom data from your script (direction, level, tag, indicator readings)
Payload fields become study columns — name them clearly in the Definition.
Inspect on chart
Click an event to open a chart preview at that bar (when available).
Verify the marker sits on the setup you intended — not one bar early, not on noise.
Filter and search
Narrow by date, instrument, or payload value when the UI offers filters.
Use this to answer “did my volume filter actually remove small days?”
What good looks like
You scroll twenty random events, open five on chart, and each matches your mental picture of the setup. Then you run the study.
Important distinctions
Research events = setup occurrences from a Definition.
Trades = positions you took. Different library — see Trades library.
Event review (after a study run) = walk study cohorts on chart — see Event review.
