Overview

A Study asks a measurable question over a Definition’s collected events — “what usually happens in the next N bars?” — and returns stats you can review and pin on chart.

Studies live under a Definition. They do not run on your trade journal (that is trade studies).

What a study produces

  • Aggregates — win rate, average R, MAE/MFE, percentiles

  • Cohorts — split by payload field (direction, session, filter flag)

  • A finished run you can open in event review or put on chart

The flow

  1. Define the setup

  2. Collect events into a dataset

  3. Author the study question

  4. Run over instrument, range, timeframe

  5. Pin results on your Terminal chart

Where to click

Research → Definitions → [definition] → Studies

List shows attached studies and recent runs.

Agents

Conductor can draft studies and queue runs. You approve before results land. Same study builder you would open yourself.

What good looks like

One Definition, one dataset, one study answering “hit rate to 1R within 15 bars” — result pinned on your live ES chart during London.

Important distinctions

Research study = over Definition events (market setups).

Trade study = over your trades (journal) — see Trade studies.

Indicator = draws on chart; does not by itself answer cohort statistics.

Next

  1. Create a study — author the question

  2. Run a study — execute and read results

  3. In-terminal pins — show results while trading
