Run a study
Run a study to execute your question over historical events and produce a result set — stats, cohorts, and optional pin-ready output.
Prerequisites
Definition with a version snapshot
Collected dataset on that snapshot
Saved study attached to the definition
Start a run
Open Research → Definitions → [definition] → Studies
Select your study
Click Run
Confirm:
Instrument and timeframe
Date range (may default from dataset)
Profile if applicable
Study parameters (horizon bars, target R, and so on)
Start the run
Progress shows on the study card. Large datasets take longer.
Read results
When complete, open the run:
Summary — headline metrics (hit rate, averages, counts)
Cohorts — breakdown tables if you defined splits
Event list — rows that entered the analysis
Plain language: “of 412 events, 58% reached +1R within 15 bars.”
After the run
Event review — chart-walk sample events
Put on chart — create an in-terminal pin from this run
What good looks like
Run completes without errors. Summary matches spot-checks from browsing events. You pin one clear metric to the Terminal.
Important distinctions
Study run = batch analysis over stored events.
Live chart = Real-time Terminal — study run does not auto-appear until you pin.
Re-run after Definition changes requires new snapshot + recollect first.
