Definitions library

The Definitions library holds every setup script you own — and a Community tab to browse definitions others share.

What you get

• Mine — definitions you created or cloned

• Community — public definitions you can browse and clone

• Split detail view — overview, code, datasets, studies, versions, pins

Open the library

Go to Research → Definitions.

Mine lists your work sorted by recent activity. Click a row to open the detail pane.

Browse Community

Switch to the Community tab to explore public definitions.

Filter or search by name and category. Open one to read the description before cloning.

Create new

Click New definition to start the create flow — AI-assisted or build-it-yourself.

Nothing is saved until you submit a name and create the definition.

Privacy

Each definition has a visibility level — private, unlisted, or public. Control who can see and clone it from the definition settings. Public definitions appear in Community.

Clone from Community

1. Open a community definition

2. Click Clone

3. Chartnaut copies it into Mine

4. Edit, collect, and study your copy — changes do not affect the original

What good looks like

You keep three active definitions in Mine, clone one community ORB script as a starting point, and collect datasets on each without hunting through folders.

Important distinctions

Definitions library = setup detectors (events).

Indicators library = chart series — separate list under Research → Indicators.

Trades library = your executed positions — not definitions.
